International Dance Weeks GALA, 21. 4. 2023 Vinohrady Theatre Prague

This year's 38th edition of the International Dance Weeks festival will open with the traditional GALA of IDW, which will take place on 21 April 2024 at 7:00 pm at the Vinohrady Theatre in Prague.

The dramaturgical intention of the conservatory Dance Centre Prague is stable: to present the development of dance theatre through a repertoire of junior companies composed of recent graduates or even students of conservatories. This year we will welcome after many years, first of all, the important foreign company Die Palucca Hochschule für Tanz Dresden. The "Palucca" under the direction of the outstanding Canadian dancer and artistic director Jason Beechey has in recent years acquired a completely new - modern face of eclectic artistic education. We believe that the re-established contact will be of great benefit to both parties. A traditional part of the programme will be Bohemia Ballet - our colleagues from the Dance Conservatory of the Capital City of Prague. Prague and the best of our House of Dance Art Prague will also be presented: Prague Chamber Ballet and Prague Junior Ballet. The fruits of the Year of Czech Music will already be evident in the programme - let us be surprised.
